  • Train clarification required (Holyhead)?

Today - thursday 26th June - at approx 20.30, i saw a train heading towards Abergele comprised of a class 66 ( i think) 4 coaches in Arriva blue, and a dead electric loco at the rear. What train was this. The Irish Mail with the dead loco and portion split at Crewe? Or some other.

  • North Korean soldier vs US/UK?

In the event of combat, do you think a North Korean soldier would win hands down? They seem well disciplined and indoctrinated (similar to the Waffen SS) but with old Soviet armour. The US troops seem well equipped but hopeless in combat, and the British seems well trained, disciplined but hopelessly under equipped. What do you think?

  • Brakes appear to be grabbing - Astra 2005?

The car was stood for a month in mostly wet Scottish weather. Upon driving it i can feel a definite "pulse" through the brake pedal. The disks are not warped and there is little or no vibration through the steering wheel. At walking pace the brakes (front) appear to brake then grab, then brake in rotation with the wheel - hence the pulse at high speeds. Pad lining is 8mm. Any ideas? Halfords say the brake pads need bedding in again after the disks have rusted, but i'm not so sure.

  • Risk of window shattering?

Some kids threw a small piece of gravel at my rear window causing a surface graze/chip of around 2 mm. The mark is not too deep but is noticeable. What is the risk of the window suddenly shattering bearing in mind the glass is toughened not laminated? If i left the graze alone would it be OK? Side windows also damaged but not too concerned at that at the minute.

  • Indesit IWE 7145 washer delayed cycle?

Is it normal on a heavy load for the cycle to take twice as long. The machine will not spin as the sensor detects the heavy load and compensates by a very slow spin, but the result is a 1hr cycle takes over 2 hours, plus the pump continually runs risking a burn out.

  • My daughter who's 2 months behaves as though she's dreaming. Why?

So, do babies dream? If so what about? Dreams are based on memories of fact or image. As babies have no memory and cannot decypher images in a rational way, it seems to me that they cannot perform this act. But my daughter sleeps in a way that indicates dreaming.

  • America and Vietnam factual inaccuracies?

I was going through the channels on my TV and noticed another Chuck Norris film about the US in Vietnam. Now, this got me wondering. Why do the Americans go on about this war so much, and give the impression they won it, when in fact they lost it? Comparatively we British don't go on about the Falklands, a war we did indeed win, but have largely consigned to the history books.
