Risk of window shattering?

Some kids threw a small piece of gravel at my rear window causing a surface graze/chip of around 2 mm. The mark is not too deep but is noticeable. What is the risk of the window suddenly shattering bearing in mind the glass is toughened not laminated? If i left the graze alone would it be OK? Side windows also damaged but not too concerned at that at the minute.

Door glass in a vehicle is tempered glass. It is either broken into small pieces or is intact. Chip should not cause it to shatter. If if was a windshield it would be a different story, Windshields are laminated glass and a small chip can start a "run" that can crack out. Tempered glass cannot "crack", it breaks into many small pieces when it breaks.

it could possibly crack when winter comes due to freezing ice compresing against the glass inside and outside.
