My daughter who's 2 months behaves as though she's dreaming. Why?

So, do babies dream? If so what about? Dreams are based on memories of fact or image. As babies have no memory and cannot decypher images in a rational way, it seems to me that they cannot perform this act. But my daughter sleeps in a way that indicates dreaming.

Babies most certainly have memory. Why else would they prefer your face to a stranger. If you change your hair, they do not like it.

And of course they dream. And they can interpret images. For instance, I breast feed therefore I am food. My baby see me he smacks his lips with hunger. My husband is fun, baby smiles right away.

And of course half the fun of a sleeping baby is guessing what they're dreaming.

yes, they can dream, they have memories. its actually been proven that babies can dream in the womb....of course they have nothing to dream about except being in the womb, but it still happens in later pregnancy.

babies are not stupid, they have brains and memories. they might not dream about anything other than the voices they hear or the images they see (which by 2 months they CAN see clearly, just not very far)

Yes they dream, probably about what they've experienced in their day. She may only be 2 months but she's a sponge and takes in all sorts of things. Dreaming helps in the learning process.

Dreams are random firing of synapses. They sometimes trigger memories.
