Would you save someone you really hated if you were their only hope of survival?

Yes I would. I think most people would.

At the very least the person would owe you something.

It depends on the degree in which I hate them.

Are they a rapist? I would get popcorn and watch them die.

Pedophile? I would pretend I was going to help them and then back away and let them die.

Owe me an apology? I'd save them... eventually.

A CEO of a large corporation? I'd save them after they promised me money and a good job.

An idiot? I'd save them, unfortunately.

It depends why I hated them, and what saving them consisted of. Details matter more to me than general concepts.

Yes. I'm a human being with empathy for others. "Hate" doesn't matter when a human life is at stake.

No. There are only four people I hate. All of them have done horrible things against me and gotten away with it. I'd let them die and would not lose sleep over it one bit.

yes, then if you ever got in an argument with them later, you'll always win by throwing something like 'yeah, well if it weren't for me you'd be dead'.

I'm sure there are other reasons to save their life, but that one springs to my mind :)
