Oh my god why do people answer questions they know nothing about. Oxycontin is a 12 hour time release drug so a 10mg pill is made to distribute 10mg into your system over the course of 12 hours. Considering the pills you have are original oc and not op cutting it in half will release a higher amount into your system. Because 10mg is the lowest dose of oxy you shouldn't have to worry much about overdosing but if the dose is strong enough to make you sick extended release I would not cut it in half. Talk to your doctor and they most likely can help you most likely you are sensitive to oxycodone extended or immediate release. Good luck

First, cutting any controlled release product, like OxyContin, in half isn't recommended. You will defeat the controlled release properties. Don't do it!
You can take it with food. That will minimize the stomach problems. I'm not familiar with getting the 'poops' when taking opioids, they usually constipate.

Sir Donny Prince of Dover, You will have 2 5mg oxy. ( just kidding ), If your stomach pains are due to the oxy. you have to eat some thing, I think we've been here before maybe it was someone else, any way coat you stomach with milk, yogurt. pepto bimsol see if this help. Feel Better Later Prince.

If you have something one whole and you cut it in half u have 1/2 of the whole so you would have half the pill

You get 5 mg of IMMEDIATE RELEASE oxycodone. Tell your doctor. Do not cut time-release meds !!
