I am on my roommate's wireless router. Can he see my internet history and if so, is there a way I can prevent that?

Get an Internet connected computer outside his local network, install an HTTP proxy on it, access it though a VPN. That way everything that goes through the router will be encrypted.

Unless the router has some kind of website address logging feature then you are fine and he shouldnt be able to see what you are browsing.
