Boarding schools for teens?

My little 15 year old sister is out of control, and my mom and I can't help her. Boarding school sounds like an excellent idea, but we have no idea how to go about getting her into a school (and google isn't much of a help) If we even found a school, we would need financial aid to help pay for it. Does anyone know of any camps or boarding schools around the southern ohio area?

--Thanks!

Actually, it's quite possibly the worst idea you'll ever have. So many young people have died as a direct result of abuse received at exactly such schools, with the rest being emotionally scarred for life. If your sister gets sent to one, I promise you her life will be destroyed. Whatever problems you are having with her, you need to find another solution. Do not send her to one of those schools. Please.

There are boarding schools for troubled teens called therapeutic schools and there are academic boarding schools. I don't know which type of school you are looking for your sister.

I can give you resources for academic boarding schools. However, if she has problems like severe drinking, drugs, eating disorders, etc., then a therapeutic school might be what she needs..

Resources for boarding schools: www.boardingschoolreview.com, www.boardingschools.com and www.petersons.com. All the academic boarding schools I know of offer financial aid. However, your sister should be a strong candidate to increase her chances for aid.

    Good luck!
