Allergies? is this a symptom of HIV or just allergies? never had allergies before?
I never had allergies until around this february. Not sure exactly what is going on but ever since Februarywhen I was sick with swine flu, I have had allergies. Runny nose, itchy nose, watery eyes, no cough though and I am unsure as to why I have allergies now and have never had them before. I had unprotected sex in december 2009, and then started having allergies in February...could this be a sign of HIV? right now I am waiting for test results, but I am unsure as to why I am having allergies when I never had them before. My son now seems to be having allergy problems, so I am not sure if it is something in my apartment that is causing allergies, or if it could be HIV. I am scared to see the test results, but I am thinking that maybe the allergies are not a symptom because my son seems to be sneezing more now and telling me his nose is bugging him. Can anyone shed some light? any feedback is helpful:)
Oh yea, and just wondering why ive had these allergies non-stop since February and if taking OTC drugs like claritin is normal if im suffering...I agree with the mold and dust, it seems likely BUT i had been living in this apartment for a year before this and nothing, until this february. So could it be that the mold just started to grow or it took my body awhile to react??

I never thought I had allergies (been healthy as a child with no allergies) until in my 30's when I switched doctors. She wanted me to take tetanus shot. I don't remember when my last shot or if I've ever had them during my 30 years on earth but insisted I need to take them every 10 years.
I had an allergic reaction (horse serum main ingredient for tet shot) and I was paralyzed for 3 months.
Went back to my own doctor, prescribed me a pill (can't remember what it was), to reverse the shot, and I forgot to take it one day and while I was brushing my teeth, I just collapsed!
I won't even take anti-biotics!

Yes, it's most likely allergies. Since it's indoors and hasn't bothered either of you before, it's likely a minor mold problem. Dust and mold allergies will affect people who aren't even allergic to pollen in the spring.

To answer your second part, probably both. There will always be a little mold somewhere in the house, but little bits of it won't be doing anything to you. As it builds up, it'll become more and more noticeable to you and anyone else living there.
I'm not saying there's mushrooms or anything growing in your house (it's not a severe problem where you have to move out or get professional help, don't worry). The best thing for you to do would probably just change your air filter. There's different grades of filters, with the most expensive ones being the finest (they trap the smallest particles, good for sifting out mold). Just get one of those and see if you can notice a difference in your air.

It's not likely it's hiv unless you've had unprotected sex with an hiv positive person.
