Does anyone know of good things to do in London?

Hello, I am going to London at the end of the year, and have only been there once before and so know little about the place.

Could some people please suggest things to do?

We are interested in everything London has to offer.

Thanks :D

    Standard sightseeing things:

    * Westminster (houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben)

    * Take a trip up in the London Eye

    * St Pauls Cathedral

    *Take a boat from Westminster down to Greenwhich and stroll around there - Greenwhich is really nice and a lot of sites are down by the Thames so it is a good sightseeing trip

    * Tower of London

    * Piccadilly Circus/Leicester Square

    * Covent Garden

    * Trafalgar Square

    * Changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace

    Markets:

    * Camden Lock - absolutely crazy place where you can find anything. Camden also has loads of funky and different restaurants etc

    * Portobello road market (Notting Hill)

    If you are looking for culture:

    * British Museum

    * Tate Modern

    * Hampton Court Palace

    * Victoria & Albert museum

    * Natural history Museum

    * Churchill War Rooms

    * Watch a show down in the West End - Lion King is amazing

    *If you like jazz going to Ronnie Scott's is a must

    Eat & Drink - depends on price range and what sort of cuisine you like but here are some examples:

    * Gaucho - Argentinean restaurant with the by far best steaks I've ever had (and i'm not really a steak person). They have several branches so check out their website for more info

    * Cubana - Cuban restaurant close to Waterloo station. Good food and drinks

    * The Archipelago - if you are looking for something veeeery different then check out this place. It's close to Euston station (http://www.archipelago-restaurant.co.uk/) and serve everything from crocodile fillet to zebra, kangaroo and chocolate-dipped scorpions for dessert.

    * Busaba Ethai - excellent Thai food on Wardour Street

    * Golden Hind (Marelybone Ln) - Proper fish & chips

    * Pho - Lovely Vietnamese food. I've only been to the original one on St Johns Street but they now have branches around Oxford Street and in Soho as well

    * Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (Fleet Street) -One of London's oldest pub

    * Brick Lane - if you're looking for Indian curry this is the place to go, all of Brick lane is packed with curry houses

    There are simply too many restaurants for me to list so I'll just leave it at that :)

    Oh and for a lazy Sunday brunch go to Cookbook Cafe (Intercontinental hotel, Park Lane). As much champagne, Bellinis and Bloody Marys as you can drink are included in the price

    ...and if you like Martinis you have to go to the bar in Dorchester hotel, where Ian Fleming used to hang out (this is where he came up with James Bond's passion for martinis)

    ...and if you are coming in the wintertime - ice skating at Somerset House of course

    I could go on and on forever.. there are simply so many things to London - which is why this city is so great. For a view of events that are happening around whichever time you were planning on going, checkout http://www.timeout.com/london/

    I had an interesting time at the borough market and I really liked the british museum. Had a very interesting lunch in the cafe in the basement of St Martins-in-the-field.

    Get a good travel guide and make list, London has so much to see and do.

    I was also going to suggest burning of the Koran but since somone already did I will suggest another great british thing to do is:

    go to pub around 5pm, get yourself drunk legless on cheap cider and few pints, go get a kebab (remember to smear garlic sauce on your shirt), get on a tube and puke.
