What is there to do if you're old?

I mean you are not as attractive as if you were young,you can't run so fast,your back (for example) hurts,you have a job to do or you have already done your job and you are pensioner,you may have a family,but what if you don't have a family?Chance to get friends is pretty low too.I can't get this idea out of my mind...what will be if I will be old?The old man in The Shawshank Redemption movie hung himself because he was imprisoned for so long,and because "who needs an old man like me anyway?"

I'm not depressed,only worried.And I now feel the same with old people.

    Age is just a number. Nowadays 65 when most people retire from work is not old. People in general have a longer life expectancy as 60 or 70 years ago on average.. Once upon a time people on average lived to age 70. Now they live well into their 80's and even 90's.

    A lot depends on how healthy a person is... mentally and physically. At 65 a person can still be rather fit.. if they took good care of themselves and if they are lucky. Then they can do a lot of things still when they retire.. whether they have family or not.. They can join recreation classes and groups for seniors and take part in swimming. aerobics, painting classes, art procets, drama classes, they can learn another language still at their age and go back to evening classes. If they can afford it they can travel a lot and see the world. If they are outgoing they can travel in a prearranged package tour where they will meet the same people on boad a ship or on a train and because they all travel to the same destination they can become friendly with each other.. so can the people who join the recration clubs and groups.. Others can do volunteer work and help out those elderly people who are in their 80's and need some help or they can act as dog walkers or babysitters.

    They can read a lot. They can make friends as easily as they can when they are younger... if they are outgoing.. they can join the right clubs and socialize then they are bound to make friends, there will be other people who may be widows or widowers.. or who just share a hobby... if they feel they don't like to live alone and can affort to buy themselves into an apartment that is on the same grounds as a retirement home but they do everything for themselves.. except they may have someone else mow the lawn for them and they may have access to a doctor who works at the nursing home... they can join in at the activities at the nursing home and those people if they are still fit enough do go on bus tours or even on tours for a week... they can run a church bazaar. they can go on tours provided by the local church, they can do gardening, get a dog or a cat or both... they can help kids with their homework if they used to be teachers who are retired... if they play an instrument they can give private lessons..

    Life is not over just because one gets older.. there are young people who get ill.. and they can't live their life as they want to because of chronic pain or accidents or anyone at any age could suffer a stroke or heart attack or cancer.. not just people over 65.. They have to keep their brain active and stay interested in what happens in the world around them then they won't be depressed.. If they don't do anything, then the chances are higher that they might develop Dementia or Alzheimers.. which is a disease mainly of the old.. even if young people get it as well. but when people lived to only age 70 on average we hardly ever heard about ''Alzheimers''.. it's because people now live so long that this is a disease that can affect anyone who is older.. .but they can keep their mind active and chances to get this disease are a lot less likely to affect them until they are 85 or 90, if at all.

    Here's what I believe, and I've placed plenty of notion into this seeing that I'm a type of individuals you would believe might under no circumstances, ever, ever get one. I believe, in the event you've notion approximately it ample, if it's going to imply ample to you ten years from now, then a tattoo could be a lovely factor, without reference to its situation someday. Sure, there are individuals who get tattooed only for the sake of it, or seeing that they wish it off to individuals, however I uncover essentially the most significant ones essentially the most lovely. To me, a tattoo is a reminiscence of all the notion that went into it, as good as of the day you honestly bought it, and whilst you are historic, and by myself, it's going to be first-rate to look that mark to your frame, and consider who you had been, and the matters that formed you again then. And, on an extra observe, who's trying out historic individuals? If you are going to get historic and wrinkled besides, does it topic what else is to your dermis? The most effective drawback to getting one, is that almost all of society nonetheless does not approve, but when it way ample to you, you'll be able to get it someplace wherein it may not purpose a problem.

    How do you define "old", sweetie?

    {{{HUG}}}

    I am 54 and I still do not feel old, am still working and am a widely respected technician, am an active pilot, work out hard and am into the martial arts, am into handgunning, work on my own cars and aircraft, have decided to pursue my BA and am still very sexually active.

    I have acquired knowledge and very hard won life experience and wisdom and with these, I have (thank God) saved the lives of others, via counseling.

    Age is largely a state of mind. Sure, I have aches and pains from having lived for more than half of a century but nominally, I feel very strong and vital.
