PHOTOSHOP CS 5 is giving me a headache. wondering if you know how to correct any of these issues?
When I attempt to open 2 images, one image automatically becomes the background and the second automatically becomes superimposed on the background with an " X " through the image, like the image automatically becomes a SMART OBJECT. The files do not appear as 2 separate images. If I
attempt to drag the image off the background, it just moves off to the direction I am dragging, but does not become a separate image file. This happens to RAW, JPEG, TIFF basically any time I try to open multiple image files. How can I stop this and be able to open multiple files ?
When I try to add font to an image, I am not able to hit ENTER to move to a new line and continue typing like a word processor. If I hit ENTER it creates a new layer automatically. Example if I wanted to write
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO YOU
HAVE A
GREAT DAY
it would make 4 separate layers instead of one layer with 4 lines
How can I correct this ??
How can I set CS5 to automatically open mult. images as separate windows like in older versions and NOT group every image across the top of my screen? I know it has a feature you can click on in the WINDOWS menu, but this has to be done each time I open mult. images
Is there a way to make Photoshop do this automatically ?
Have already tried to reset using Ctrl + Alt + Shift before clicking on the program to delete the photoshop settings file

to open multiple images as separate windows i think you would just have to go to Preferences > Interface > Open Documents as Tabs (under Panels & Documents)
if Photoshop is acting up on you, you should try to reset your settings back to default and see how it goes from there. Ctrl + Alt + Shift before clicking on the program will bring up a prompt asking if you want to delete the photoshop settings file.

E-diddy is right about the thumb trick... it works great for some. Make sure you grab it as close to your hand as you can, until it HURTS, as i think part of it's the idea that your brain is tricked into shifting to the new pain a moment which can somewhat break the "connection". Hold it for at least two minutes, while also relaxing your face as much as possible. If it's tension, your neck is another point of origin. Then alternate hands, doing it on the other side also (balance in all things). Try laying on a couple of books on the floor and experiment with kind of grinding your neck into the edge of the stacked books, putting pressure on various points until you (may) find one that helps. i deal with chronic pain and employ acupressure, biofeedback, and a boat load of narcotics, but i guess that last one is out, huh? Another thing is to rinse your head under cool (not cold, no need to make yourself tense) for a few minutes, helping to constrict dilated blood vessels. Caffeine helps with that too, but it does take quite a bit. And it IS true that sleep can help, IF you can get there. The key things are relaxation, cool or cold and rest. Also be sure to get some protein and sugar into your system, just in case a small blood sugar low is a contributing factor. gentle thoughts...
