You need to stop carrying him inside. And you need to take time to train him to cross the threshold.
I would do this at a time when there isn't a lot of people around. After every one has gone to work or in the evening.
Take a treat with you and you cross the threshold first. Keeping him on the leash of course. Then show him the treat and tell him come. Don't get him under any circumstances. When he crosses the threshold praise him like crazy and give him the treat. That way you can practice it a few times. Keep doing this everyday until he learns it.
Again, you need to be the strong one and be the boss, Don't give in to any crying whining or barking that your dog may do.
