I need to write a paper about a culture's mythology impacting its relations with outsiders from BC times, I can't use Native Americans from either continent, or the old testament jews.

In ancient Greece, foreigners were under the protection of the chief of the Gods, namely Zeus, in his form as Xenios Dias. Thus, for a Greek of such religious - mythological - background, any foreigner had to be treated with care and respect.
