how can i get my mom to think i am trustworthy?
ok so i am 10 about to be 11, i really want a facebook and all my friends and family have one and i really want one. but my mom has heard many bad things about social networking sites. how can i prove to her that i am trustworthy enough to get a facebook and not give out the wrong information or be friends with people i dont no. i also already have a email address and you can do about the same suff on my yahoo email as on facebook
ps. im using my 14 year old cousins yahoo answers
i wrote this because my cousin asked me this question and i dint really no how to answer

ACT LIKE IT!
What you do in OTHER parts of your life will be reflected in what your mom thinks of you.
1) Get your homework done FIRST THING after school. Don;t wait to be told! Have it done BEFORE dinner.
2) Make sure you homework is DONE RIGHT. Absolutely NO mistakes! ALWAYS show you homework to Mom BEFORE you take it to school.
3) Keep your grades high. Good grades show that you are concentrating on SCHOOL, and not "social networking". Social networks like facebook are responsible for a LOT of failed classes!
3) Makes sure that YOU get up and get ready for school BY ROLF. Set your own alarm clock, and get yourself out of bed. Get showered and dressed without being instructed. Wear decent clothing that MOM would approve of, and not just to please your friends.
4) Get your home chores done quickly, and without being told. Make sure that everything is done correctly, and to MOM'S acceptance.
5) Show restraint in everything you do. Don;t fight with brothers or sisters, don;t argue with Mom. Understand that your ARE 10, and MOM IS BOSS. Always answer, "Yes. Ma'am" and "No,. Ma'am", and say "Please" and Thank you" when necessary.
by SHOWING your mother that you are responsible in ALL areas of your life, she will soon loosen up on this one tiny area..

You are lucky to be one of the few whose mother cares enough to make sure you are doing the right thing. Facebook can be dangerous for young teens, and you aren't even a teen yet. Trust her. It isn't all about you being trustworthy. If you feel you can do the same stuff on your email try to be content with that at present. Its boring anyway - I opened a facebook account but after one of two goes I never bother with it any more.
But you are not trustworthy anyway if you are using someone else's computer to access Answers so your Mom doesn't know. Are you?

No, I do not think 10 year old's should be on the internet period.
If I was your mother I would let you have it at age 16/15.
