Do you think that man should decide what animal goes extinct?

Personally for me, man should never decide what animal should go extinct. After all nature does a much better job. Just because an animal does not have a direct influence on human, doesn't make it useless. Every creature, whether useless or not, has a place in the ecosystem. I'm not talking about domesticated animals.

I don't think we should but if an animal is going extinct naturally and its not our fault (like its not down to deforestation or human pollution) then I think we should give up trying to save it after some point. Its part of life for animals to go extinct or survive - we don't have a right to decide which ones die out or survive so if nature decides that an animal should go extinct then be shouldn't stop it. I do however think we should help out the ones that we are causing to go extinct because that's our mess and we have the responsibility to put it right.

I'm sure some science-type people will fuss at me, but...I could do without flies, mosquitoes, and spiders. They probably do some good for the environment, but they annoy me nonetheless.
