come on ffs the network i am trying to create is the simplist network available ffs someone must know whats wrong with it

thanks, i am trying to network 2 computers for file and internet sharing, i am using windows 7 ultimate x84 on both computers. the problem i have is limited or no connectivity. i have set the tcp.ipv4 to various different settings on both computers, i have the correct x-over cable but no matter what i do i cannot connect the two computers up. nether computers see eachother on the network i have spent hours going through different fixes off the internet but nothing is working. i cannot ping ether computer from the other. nothnig is working no matter what i do.

x82...using onboard ethernet ports, crossover cable all im getting is unidentified network and the diagnose says it cannot find a problem

    First of all you need to calm down,now i work in networking but havent seen your previous posts can you please calmy edit yopur question and say what the problem is,i will check back in 5 minutes if youve added more info i will attempt to help you.

    Set the IP addresses to 192.168.1.1 on 1 computer and 192.168.1.2 on the other one. 255.255.255.0 for the mask.

    Set the workgroup of both computers to the same name.

    Share the drive or the folders you want to be shared.

    You will have no connectivity, since you have no modem or router.

    You would have to be WAY more specific than giving just the name of your network... Please do some research before actually attempting to create one..

    Yep, I know exactly what's wrong with it. The solution is extremely simple. Its a PICNIC problem.
