Well first off, ALWAYS BUY DRUGSTORE STUFF FIRST! Dont run off to sephora and spend 30 on an eyeliner and find out you hate the colour, when experaminting, try out cheaper stuff first.

Things you need and should splurge on if you would like to: good quality brushes that can be washed and used hundreds of times, eyeshadow primer, foundation primer (primer prevents the oil in your skin from making your makeup come off), a good foundation that matches your skin, doesent clog your pores, and is easy to apply.

Basics that every woman needs: a good nude lipstick, medicated chapstick to apply under lipstick (blistex medicated works great), a small eyeshadow palate with neautral shades (revlon has veyr nice ones for very cheap), mascara, eyeliner, and eyelash curler, an oil free moisturizer for your face, a multitasking product like Nars Multiples ( 38.00 at sephora, works as lipstick, eyeshadow, blush and highlighter), and a clear shiney lip gloss (victorias secret beauty rush is perfect)

Always take off your makeup at night, it can cause pimples and rashes if lef ton over night.

Loreal HIP have little eyeshadow duos and I reccomend you buy the one called playful. it is brown shades that are perfect on every skin tone. This brand has many colours of eyeshadow duos and they are perfect for day and night looks and can create the perfect smokey eye. I also reccomend the maybelline collosolash mascara (bright yellow tube) because it is amazing and cheap. For a nice reddish tint to lips without lipstick try Nivea a kiss of flavor cherry tinted lip balm. It smells like a cherry popcicle and adds lovely colour.

Good brands to splurge on once you know what you like(sephora brands): NARS, smashbox, and too faces.

Great at drugstores and good for experamenitng: Rimmel, loreal HIP, and revlon.

Well, it depends on how old you are. If you're younger, (junior high) I would recommend just some tinted moisturizer, concealer if you need it, brown mascara, lip gloss, cheek stain, and a neutral eyeshadow. (pink, brown, gold, light purple, etc.)

If you're in 10th grade and up, try using a lash curler, foundation (if you need it), black mascara, eyeliner, blush, lipstick in neutral colors.

Try to go for a natural look though so you don't look too caked together.
