Good mountain for honeymoon with new skier?
I'm taking my future wife skiing for our honeymoon. I have several trips under me, but she has never been before. I'd like to find a beginner-friendly mountain (lots of fun greens) and preferably one with a fun base town or a good city nearby.
We are coming from Texas, so I'd prefer to find something in New Mexico or Colorado.
Thanks in advance!

Yep, Breckenridge. Vail would be another good choice. Telluride or Steamboat too.
I think the New Mexico resorts have less beginner/novice terrain but I've never been.

I like Breckenridge a lot both for skiing and for entertainment. As your wife to be is new to the sport and it is your honeymoon you'll want much more than just a great mountain.
One suggestion (take it or leave it) is that your wife take a least one lesson with a professional - without you. I know this sounds anti-social, but first time skiers are nervous and some never quite get it. You do not want a fight on your honeymoon as you say "it's easy honey just..." and she says "I did that and now I'm lying face down in the snow #$%#$@%^#$^!"
After she's had a lesson odds are you can ski together nicely and maybe even make a suggestion or two. I am still not able to give my wife any direction without getting stared down. Instructors, other friends, random strangers can tell her anything and she says "thanks", but if I open my mouth the mountain gets a little colder.
Have fun.
