R&P: What do you think of Steven Tyler leaving Aerosmith and going on American Idol?

I think it is stupid, because not as many people will listen to the new Aerosmith with out the signiture voice of Steven Tyler.

BQ- Rag Doll, Love in an Elevator, Dream On, Living on the Edge, Other Side, Back in the Saddle Again.

BQ2- I stopped watching American Idol as soon as I saw it, lol.

BQ3- I wouldn't watch it for him, but I would watch it for someone else, if they wanted me to.

First off, please let everyone know that I love Aerosmith. Great legendary band.

Having said that, good for Stephen Tyler. Aerosmith faded out of the music scene quite a while ago and with the actions of the past few years, the idea of a new album or new relevance in modern music for that matter, the chances were slim. Aerosmith, like the majority of other legendary 70s bands, has aged tumultuously. If this gets Tyler a new audience or makes Aerosmith relevant again, more power to him.

BQ- Back In the Saddle

BQ2- I only watch the auditions. From then on out, I don't watch.

BQ3- I'll watch the auditions for sure, doubt I'll watch the rest.

I don't really care, to be honest. Aerosmith is a band that, at one point, doesn't have to keep putting out new music.

2: A few years ago. I used to watch just the auditions to see the ridiculous people, but even they aren't entertaining anymore. I think I've missed the entire last 3 or 4 seasons.

3: I might watch one or two episodes to see him, yeah.

I lovelovelove him AND Aerosmith! In my top 5 favorites. I'm not sure if the Idol move was smart, seeing as how it's a sinking ship. J Lo is an overpaid buffoon and can't sing, so why is she on there?

BQ2: Last season, haven't really payed much attention to it, I only watch it if there's like a more "rock" contestant like Chris Daughty or David Cook, both good seasons
