If God exists, then why is my cat deaf? Why would He do that?

To answer: god isnt real. your cat is deaf by defect.

God gave you a deaf cat for your benefit. What an honor to care for a helpless animal.

Because he either doesn't exist or doesn't care. Those are the only two reasonable choices there are regarding a god and our world.

If everything went perfect for each of us in this life, we would have no real need for faith and obedience. Those are things God desires for us to obtain. It is part of justice. You cannot know the bitter, if everything is always sweet. You cannot appreciate what joy is, if you never have felt pain.
