Y!A should separate R&P into metal, rock, and pop, am I right?
Keep the Justine Bieber stuff away from the good stuff, and narrow the subjects further?
I am sorry, but I have not seen others like this, but plenty of things about Justin Bieber. Sorry to annoy you, but that's all that I've seen. I'm not whining, I WAS JUST ASKING FOR PEOPLE'S OPINIONS. I understand that they can overlap, but I just think they should be separated. Sorry for making you angry.

Yeah, and a powerviolence section. I hate having to talk about powerviolence with all these "rock" music fans around.

This questions gets asked every day. No, you're not right. These three popular music genres are similar and oftentimes overlap. Not all pop music is modern autotune sh*t like Justin Bieber and not all metal is death or black metal. Separating the discussion of early Beatles music, undoubtedly more pop than rock, from Led Zeppelin, clearly full-on rock and roll, would be retarded, as would separating the discussion of Black Sabbath, widely considered the first metal band, also from Led Zeppelin. The three bands may all have played slightly different styles or variations of music, but all three still belong in the same basic forum. If you don't like reading questions about really pop-py music, then don't read them. It's simple as that. Nobody really asks questions about pop like Bieber or Lady GaGa anyway (except trolls), it's more Rock/Metal.

Yeah they definitely should, but even then, from my experience with real life and online, whenever somebody says "metal", it attracts nu-"metal" or "death-core" fans along with glam fans, and real metal fans. So in the long run, it's still going to be a bunch of people complaining about poseurs, or the poseurs will complain about people like me.
To put it simply, if there was a metal section, Slipknot or Lamb Of God would be the new Justin Biebers.

Hell yes. There should be a "Pop/Rock" and a "Hard rock/Metal" category. To keep the softer rock and pop separated from obviously heavier stuff. If jazz and blues could be separated, so should rock and pop. And yes there are PLENT of questions about Bieber, Gaga, Perry and all that sh!t.

Why should we seperate anything, music is for us all, some we will like and other stuff we won't, but we will never understand music unless we try and understand all points of view on it, and by having pop and rock together we are just doing that. If you don't like pop, then just choose the questions you want to answer and don't read the rest. That is the way I do it, and it works just fine for me.
take care

I really love how I haven't been on this site in almost a year, and yet, people are still asking this question.

Like has been stated... people like you are the only ones who seem to be talking about him...
... people have been making this silly complaint for years, I would oppose such a separation since the genres cross over so much, It would be inconvenient

There are like 3 legit questions a day about that guy, the other 200 are from people like you. I wouldn't even know who he was if it wasn't for all you whiners.
