    Agree.

Jack Swagger was on RAW beforehand and he was barely being used. If he was used then it wa just to fill a match or to job to someone. He wasn't doing anything productive and he wasn't getting anywhere.

Then he went to Smackdown and he wins MITB at Wrestlemania which started his 'push' towards the main event. His push never started well. He didn't look confident at all, he was almost like a needle stuck in a haystack and a chicken among cows........Lol. Basically, he didn't belong there. He won probably the worst MITB match we've ever seen. He made an embarassing botch when he could not unhook the briefcase. From then onwards, it was uphil for about 3 steps, but then rapidly downhill. He cashed in on Jericho like a week later was it? It was a nice little moment for him and got the belt on him, job done.

From then it was downhill. He totally failed. He has the wrestling ability to be a really good champion, but his gimmick sucks. He needs a lot of work and they didn't hype him as a champion too well. The matches in which he defended his title were poor, then finally he lost it.

Normally the MITB winners are a success. Like CM Punk, Edge look at him now. But for Jack Swagger it was a total fail for many reasons. Before he won MITB he was doing nothing and barely having matches. People forgot about him and then suddenly he's back. He won the belt in a terrible MITB match. He botched the ending. No one really cared for him winning. It was unpredictable but when he took the case, there were no real cheers because he was a heel. Okay. But there were no real boos either, people just weren't fussed either way. Jack Swagger wasn't that much of a big player beforehand and someone like Christian or even Kane wouldn't benefited more so. It's a shame for Swagger because maybe if he'd won it in a few years after he's more developed then he maybe woulda done a better job and not failed. But IMO they pushed him too fast into the MITB win and now it's probably made WWE feel like not giving him another shot to main event. Because he was really boring. But at the same time it wasnt really Swagger's fault. They buried him, especially in backstage segments. He was suppose to be the world champion, but guys like Shelton Benjamin questioned who he was. It was a waste of time because nothing came from it. Yeah a world title reign. But I'd rather have zero title reigns than a failed one that no one will remember in a years time.

I wont say that it was a waste of time because Jack Swagger does have potential to be something big in the WWE, but I do feel it was an epic fail that happen at the wrong time, the only reason he really got the push was because WWE didn't want Drew McIntyre as world champion he has basically went from World Champion to Misused superstar in what two months is that a record, like I said Jack Swagger has potential, but it was a bad time to push him since he wasn't really ready to be world champion.

Disagree.....Jack Swagger deserved a push. That's the problem right there. WWE never gives young talents a push....Now that's a epic failure right there. And yes sadly he's been demoted down to midcard status.

  • Extremly disagree. Jack swagger needed a push more than anyone at that time! Look at jack now hes a mid carder agian. i liked seeing y2j vs edge vs swagger fued.

Agree, it was a fail, because it didn't work out, but I wouldn't say it was a waste of time? His push was very plain and boring, nobody wanted to see a big-mouthed character become champion, I think the reason he got the push was because he had the status of a main eventer, when he debuted on ECW he got the chamionship within days? well when I first heard of him on ECW he was the champion. so he had the champion status and WWE was maybe trying to keep that up? I dont know to be honest.

Definitely..he had a weak title reign besides his win over orton..it was just dumb because he wasn't champ for long enough to be established as a main eventer..people just see him as a mid-carder still..if WWE wanted to convince fans that he is main event quality they failed epically when they pushed him..if he would've had a longer, more impressive reign it would have been better..EPIC FAIL BY WWE there..

  • Not as epic as Mark Henry in 2006.

no... I liken it to CM Punk's first Title run as a Face (when he beat Edge, after Batista KO'd him) in and of itself it wasn't epic, but it set the stage and makes him a more viable champion if/when they need to elevate him again
