Book suggestions? fellow book nerds out there? =)?

You might enjoy the following books, which are all set in future dystopias - some extreme, some subtle, but all dystopias of a kind:

1984 by George Orwell

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

The Chrysalids by John Wyndham

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

If you like classics, but also enjoy something lighter, try I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith. It was written in the 20s I believe and is about a girl in her late teens living with her eccentric family in part of an old castle and desperately trying to make ends meet. The family's lives change gradually when they meet their new landlords - in some ways for the better, in others for the worse. It's such a great book - witty, original, bittersweet, quirky - and although there is a small degree of romance in the plot, it's devoid of cliches and not at all what you'd expect. Not at all cheesy in any way! And the characters are fantastic.

You might also like Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier, and Rebecca by the same author. They're both dark, gripping and full of mystery and suspense. I read them both when I was about your age and loved them.

If you liked Les Miserables, try The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.

You could also try The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins.

Just don't waste your time with the Twilight Series. Um, let's see. I read Uglies, which I loved by the way, except for the ending. I didn't really care for the ending much, and I couldn't really get into Pretties either, or Specials or Extras (all the same series). Um, but I did just finished a book called "Shiver" bu Maggie Stiefvater, which I thought was pretty decent. It relates more to our time instead of those books by old people who kind of FORCE the dialogue and description. You might have read it, or might not want to. "Blood Orange" by Drusilla Campbell was pretty great too. Anything by Lois Lowry, ha.

Um- and there are sites you could go to like read books that other people have written. There are never-ending books on these sites, trust me, if you like to read a lot, or if you're curious. OOhhhh I just loved The Hunger Gamess!!! One of my favorite book series of all time! That and Harry Potter(which you definitely need to read...it is made of pure brilliance). I read Uglies, Pretties, and Specials(Not Extras though, haha I heard it wasn't super good). You would probably really like The Sea of Trolls it has a great sort of Anglo-Saxon Viking fantasy thing goin on :). On the lines of sci-fi, you should definitely read the Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, and the Declaration(the first three are in a series, but the Declarations a different book different author haha). I read Ender's Game recently for school and was told that if you liked Hunger Games you would like it. Personally, it wasn't my favorite, but who knows, you might love it :). Maybe it was just because I had to read it for school....hmmm.....Anyhow! You would probably like The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, ummm Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska by John Green...and that's all I can think of off the top of my head! Hhaha happy readdingg :D

If you liked the Hunger Games, then you'll love The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Seriously, it's truly, truly amazing; totally suspenseful. I'd recommend it to ANYONE. It's set in the near-ish future and... I don't want to give anything away. Please read it, I'll love you forever and you won't regret it.

Before I Die by Jenny Downham is inspiring and emotional. About a girl who has terminal cancer... and just, it's beautiful.

You should read Flowers In the Attic by V.C Andrews, it's really great.It's suspenseful, creepy, romantic and emotional.It's about four kids locked in their grandparents' attic.It was great and if you like it there are three more books in the series.
