Which states allow a 16 year old to get tattooed with parental consent?

You don't need anyones consent to do it yourself.

I am a licensed tattoo artist in the State of Illinois and I don't know what shops you hang around, but I can assure you that tattooing a minor with OR without parental consent IS NOT allowed in Illinois, nor has it ever been. Matter of fact, Illinois was the only state in the entire union where you had to be 21 years old to get tattooed, as opposed to the age of 18, like it is in most other states, up until about 4 years ago. They definitely do not tolerate underage tattooing. Know your facts before you spread misinformation.

There are a few states left

that will do minors...Most won't.

Idaho: 14 with "Parental Consent"

Connecticut: 16 w/pic ID and

"Parental Consent"

Louisiana: 16 w/pic ID and

"Parental Consent"

Check under Tattoo Laws

for the state you are in...

Try the County Health Dept

where you live...

Go to any Tattoo Shop and

just ask for advice ...

I think any state will let a 16-year-old be tattooed, as long as a parent or guardian signs for them. I would probably try checking your state laws rather than asking on here, or calling local tattoo shops and asking them...they will certainly know!

Texas will let you get one with parental consent.I'm gonna be 17 in march and my mom and dad are taking me to get my first 2 tattoos.

There are some but most tattoo parlors won't do it
