You do not need a BA in Social Work to get an MSW. Lots of people get their BA in Psychology, Sociology or any other number of fields and go on to get ther Masters in Social Work. It's best if your BA is in something that's closely related to social work....but even that's not always necessary.
Many Masters programs place an equal amount of weight on experience as they do on undergrad education, so if you can some experience in the social work field (volunteer or paid) that will likely help you in getting accepted into a grad program.

confident you may. I graduated from a state college with a level in Criminology in 2008 and utilized to a number of grad faculties for my MSW q4 and had no issues entering into to any of them. extra advantageous than ninety p.c. of colleges with an MSW software had 0 point out of somewhat having a BSW till now making use of... the only difference is that the faculty I chosen to attend has an "stepped forward status software" that rapid tracks people who've graduated with a BSW in the previous 5 years. i'm in the classic software as somebody who has an selection degree. sturdy success!
