Do I need to wear gloves as a wide receiver?

I play JV. I have a game on Monday and I lost my gloves today. Do you still think I'll do fine at wide receiver on Monday and I don't have my gloves?

From a physics point of view, all they do is increase the coefficient of friction between your hands and the ball. When the ball is wet, they can make a huge difference, and when it is cold out, they can help the nerves in your hands stay as sensitive as they need to be (by keeping them relatively warm and dry), but in normal conditions, they only help minimally.

Gloves are good for when there are bad conditions in the weather. Example when its going to rain or snow. But if conditions are good gloves will not even do anything to help you catch the ball . In fact they might be worse for catching the ball if the conditions in the weather are good. So most likely you will be fine.

No. Quarterbacks don't wear them. You catch with your hands , not gloves. Could you imagine if basketball players wore gloves. Hope you understand the logic.

You don't need gloves. They can help sometimes, but when you catch the ball, your hands do 98% of the work while the gloves do 2%. You'll do fine.

No one who REALLY played football would ask this question.

    Loser.
