What is a "sugar daddy" and "sugar baby" are actually broad ways to describe any person who either tends to spend lots of money on their significant other or accept money or items of value from the significant other.

There are different levels of such an arrangement. Obviously someone making two million dollars a year will be a different sugar daddy than one who makes sixty thousand. A person who is happy with smaller, lesser value things in life will be different than one who is lost unless someone buys them a new Mercedes.
