Why, did you follow their advice?

Tax has to go up. That's the only way to raise debt cash. Cuts won't cut government spending, they actually increase it as there’s less money spent in the system as people hold on to their cash and more unemployed due to job cuts with the result that unemployment benefit spending soars. How on earth do cuts cut government spending?

When Margaret Thatcher had her cuts in the early eighties, which were bad enough for the country, the income tax rate was 27% and it took the country almost all of that decade to recover from those cuts. Most of the country was decimated for a decade. Some of it is still decimated nearly 30 years later. Today's situation is much, much worse.

Gordon Brown cut income tax from 22% to 20% in 2007. That was a big mistake as it turned out and this should have been reversed after the financial crash 2008/09.

David Cameron now wants to have the biggest cuts ever and is now cutting taxes( corporation tax ), ...... when there’s a 20% income tax rate. He's mad. He's asking for our economy to collapse and it'll end up in a freefalling downwards spiral of recession with no money left to prop it up as Gordon Brown did to save us from economic ruin. Remember that the Tories wanted to 'let nature take it's course' during the financial crisis. There'd be nothing left if they'd been in power and done that.

    A link for you all.

Here is a history chart of UK employment. Note how employment actually fell steeply as soon as the Tories got into power in 1979 and didn’t rise to pre 1979 levels again until 1989/90, yes, that’s 10 years later, after which it fell again. Even after the worst recession in living memory, Labour unemployment still didn’t reach the levels of Tory unemployment seen in the 80’s and 90’s. Out of 18 years of Tory rule, employment levels only reached Labour employment levels in 1989 and 1990. Now again, we’re about to see further falls in the levels of employment under yet another Tory job-cutting government.

Compare and contrast Tories in power ( '79 -'97 ) with Labour in power ( '97 - 2010 ). As far as destroying the country, it looks like the present Tories still have some way to go to reach the previous Tory government's proud unemployment record but they're doing all they can to beat it.

"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected. - GK Chesterton

Conservatives never cut much of anything. The only "service" they provide is that they temporarily slow down the growth of government (that is all that Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher accomplished). In fact, the Bushes and John Major didn't even do that.

In the 1980s, conservatives celebrated victory on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Reagan and Thatcher both failed to reduce the size of government and were replaced by leaders from the left-wing of their party. The policies of Clinton and Blair were nothing more than a continuation and escalation of the leftist policies of their supposedly "conservative" predecessors.

This November, the Republican Party will return to power, prepared to break its "Pledge to America" just as it broke its "Contract with America." In 2012, liberal Mitt Romney will probably win the election, but if not, we'll end up with Sarah Palin, who has already sold out to the Trotskyist "neo-conservatives" that control the Republican Party. Obama's health care law will never be repealed and the Republican leadership even now admits that they want to "replace" it with a more gradual expansion of government control over health care. In the 2020s, the next openly leftist president will call for purely socialized health care and we will probably get it. The national debt will continue to spiral out of control.

Looking further out, at some point this whole house of cards will finally collapse under its own weight and our descendants will probably live through a new Dark Age. After that Dark Age, the new civilization that arises will probably be Islamic rather than Christian.

Slightly disappointed that there hasn't been much emphasis on green issues, but they are DEALING with the massive financial mess that Labour left, so they might get round to global warming next. I don't feel stupid at all;I've been quite impressed with the coalition.

I wonder what Labour voters make of all the ex-ministers saying what a shambles the Brown goverment was.

I think the majority feel very stupid they didn't vote for them the previous election. We wouldn't be neck deep in sh!te if they had, probably only waist deep.

    You are living in fantasyland.

The brain dead morally degenerate, dope smoking, illegal drug using, Radical Extreme Leftists in the Obama Administration are squandering our money at a reckless, excessive, irresponsible rate.

At the current excessive, reckless, irresponsible rate that the morally degenerate, dope smoking, illegal drug using nitwits in the Obama Administration are squandering our money, The United States of America will effectively go bankrupt in less than ten years.
