How can I add/use non-common font to a website?

I built a website using .php, but I'll like to use an old-fashion-like font. I already got permission from the font owner to use it on the website. But how to I put that font onto my server so that when people visit the website, they can see the font as how I intended it?

I did google this already, but all the answers are from 2005-2008. It's been two years, so I'm hoping that there's been improvements since then.

Working with CSS is not a problem. :)

Thanks!

JavaScript, Flash, PHP and CSS now allow for number of font embedding methods. Designer Adham Dannaway provides a great round-up with links here: http://www.cre8ivecommando.com/two-great-ways-to-e...

If you do a search for 'embed font website 2010', it will also return a large numher of sites and forum discussions addressing your questions, which may provide alternative methods or further help.

"Would people using computers without the font not be able to view it properly? Would it automatically be changed into another font? " Yes! Don't expect your page to look good if you use non-standard fonts.
