I do this to them all the time, too. They really don't seem to be able to understand irony.

Part of the reason why you feel that "liberals" are often condescending to you is because you say things that are juvenile and petty...and you don't even have enough sense to realize that about yourself.

Then, when someone with a little maturity responds accordingly, you (inevitably) will say something like "oh, you liberals think you are soooo smart".

I know you can't see this vicious circle, but I'm hoping to help you break out of it by pointing it out for you.
