What kind of printer is used to put digital photos on canvas?
Would like to add this to my photography business and wondering what the cost and how hard it is to do this.
Please Help

Typically, the large format Epson or Canon ink jet printers are used. Canvas stock can be purchased on rolls if desired. However, I also agree, I do not see it as cost effective. The printer alone is several thousands of dollars, then the cost of ink and canvas stock is outrageous. There are so many companies now that do canvas printing as a speciality. You have to also consider what is done with the canvas AFTER printing. Not many people want just a loose piece of printed canvas. Are you also prepared to do stretching onto stretcher bars, or framing into "floating" frames, or wrapping the canvas as a gallery wrap? All this requires even more investment in materials, not to mention the skill needed to learn to do it properly.
I suggest you leave this to a pro company that does ALL this kind of work. Simply Canvas is one of many. I have used them many times, and their work is gorgeous. The cost is reasonable for the quality you get. You simply charge a reasonable profit margin to your client and save yourself LOTS of hassle and expense in the long run. Simply Canvas does not sell to the general public. You must be a photography business to use their service, but you say you are in business, so that should not be a problem. You will provide your business URL and probably a tax id to set up an account.

From what I can see it's either the big epsons on a sort of canvas material or dedicated inkjet printers.
I think you may be better off finding a good company and reselling from them
