book suggestions for a book club?

I have a book club with a couple friends and their moms. We are 15-16. We all are huge readers, so we have read all the usual books.

Any suggestions welcome!

In my book club at school we read:

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian

    A Season of Eden

    The Story of a Girl

    Tyrell

    Also I would recommend:

    The Hunger Games

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

    The Adoration of Jenna Fox

A Book of a Thousand Days

    Hope this helps!

This book is pretty popular so you guys probably already read it, but since it's so good I'll suggest it anyway: The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. It's set in a futuristic world, in the point of view of 16 yr. old Katniss Everdeen as she fights to the death in an arena - called The Hunger Games, takes place every year while everyone else is forced to watch the event. It's very suspenseful, well-paced, and the best series I have ever read. If you haven't already read them, then I highly recommend it for this book club. Some other books I've read this year that I've enjoyed:

The Forest of Hands and Teeth - Also set in a futuristic world, except with zombies. A little strange and kind of depressing, but a good read, nonetheless.

Shiver/Linger - A paranormal romance between a werewolf and a human girl. It's kind of cheesy, but not too over-the-top, and has some pretty interesting twists that tend to throw you off guard. It's a cute read, I enjoyed it.

I haven't really read many good books this year, so that's all I got. I suggest googling top ten young adult books and looking at your options there.

    Hope this helps :)

Dangerous Days: The Autobiography of a Photojournalist, and its sequel, Blades: The Autobiography of a Rescue-Helicopter Pilot, both by J. William Turner. Realistic fiction about teens in several dramatic life and death situations set in Australia, England and California during the years 1981-1982 and 1995-2001. Each is written as a series of four shorter novels (about 100 pages per novel) inside a single cover dealing with teenage, adult and social themes, a total of eight short books or two long ones.

    The Barcode Tattoo

Uglies series (In order, Uglies, Pretties, Specials) - Scott Westerfield

    Pug Hill

Eragon series (In order Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) - Christopher Paolini

My Side of the Mountain (A little childish in reading level, but still a great book.)

    Forrest Gump :)

Hope these suggestions give you some help. Ill post more when (and if) I can think of them.

hmm have you read Romeo and Juliet?

Oh I have a good one. Have you ever read Jodi Picoult? her book change of heart is absolutley awesome!!!

Another good one I james Patterson. He's usually pretty good. I like the 9th judgement by him.

In my experience I also liked Solace of the Road by Sibhion Dowd. That was sad, but good. WEll, I hope this helped! Happy Reading!

Monroe's (Girl in the Mirror) new novel opens as five friends, all members of a monthly book club, face turning points in their lives. Google up Smashwords and click on the link. Then download The Long Way Home. It is written for girls in your age bracket - and their moms. I think you will enjoy the story. It's adventure, history, survival - and no vampires.
