What is the cost of food in Rome?
I am going to Rome this summer for about a month and I will be staying with someone who lives there. I have access to a kitchen area, but need to buy groceries. My sister is coming with me and we will be buying groceries for the two of us and splitting the bill, as well as eating out maybe once a week. What is a reasonable price range, in either Euros or US Dollars, to expect to spend on food while we are there?

The food in Rome is veery expensive. Especially in the tourist areas.
One piece of advice. If the price is not posted before you buy, make sure you ask first. Otherwise they can charge you whatever they want, and you have to pay.
Victim of a 10 euro bottle of Coke.

Just be aware of expensive restaurant or similar. You can buy some pizza, or panini (sandwiches) for less than 5 euro per person, or a complete lunch in a good fairy restaurant for 20-30 euro, just don't stop at the first place.
If i can, i would help you suggesting you Walter, a tour guide that helped my family during our holidays in Rome, you can contact him for advices by his web site below.
