What is the best QUARTER of basketball you have ever seen from one team?

I was watching game 3 of the 95-96 NBA Finals with the Bulls against the Sonics. I was really worried about this game because we were missing Ron Harper due to injury, and he was defending Gary Payton very well. We started Toni Kukoc in his place and with him in the starting lineup we dominated the first quarter by a score 32-12. The Bulls as a team shot over 70% and Jordan & Kukoc were flawless. Looking at this made want to ask this question...What is the best QUARTER of basketball you have ever seen from one team?

Game 5 of the 1986 Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Celtics and the Hawks.

In the 3rd quarter, Boston outscored the Hawks 36-6 (including a 24-0 run) to completely blow the game wide open. They ended up winning 132-99

This was the game where Danny Ainge made a basket and Tree Rollins took the ball out, and out of disgust, threw the ball at Ainge, who caught it, made a layup, and then handed the ball back to Rollins. This was sometimes shown on the highlight reels.

It also had a great quote by Mike Fratello, who was asked about that quarter after the game. He responded "we tried everything we could to stop them, but the league won't let you make trades in the middle of a game" .........hilarious.

Never seen a team so dominant in one quarter as this

Here's a short clip of that game:

Lakers - Sonics, 2000 Western Conference Finals, Game 7. Lakers trail by 15 in the fourth quarter, still manage to pull the game out and actually make it look easy, winning by five. That win kicked off the Lakers three-peat at the start of the decade.

Honorable mention: Spurs-Nets, 2003 championship, game 6. The Spurs trailed 72-63 in the fourth, the ripped off 19 straight points to take the game and trophy.

There may be other better quarters on paper, but these were huge when it mattered most.

My call: MJ:Well i have 13 but i have seen old MJ still doing it in 1999-2003.He was great offensive force but his defense was overshowed. He was great defender,9 Defensive Teams and 10 All NBA Teams Tim Duncan:The guy is based on fundamentals and that's why he's so booring to watch.Duncan is a smart defender that waits the right moment to block and get the rebound. He's the master of boxing out for a rebound and is a force in offense with post shots, mid range shots sometimes and glass shots I'm tired in the game because i great in offense and i'm great in defense too.I defend great, also i block and rebound terrfic for a SG that is great shooter, passer in offense.I'm great shooter from mid range and downtown.I'm like Dwayne Wade with better three point shot Darko

I'm a little biased cause hes my one of my favourite players but it was back when Mutombo was playing for the sonics and they were the 8th seed facing the nuggets. It was a close game and Mutombo really showed that defence can win a championship recording his 36 block of the series or something like that but it was the last moment when he got that rebound and was lying on the floor. It was a great moment for a great player and a great person.
