Gridlines is different in Word 2007, so you will need to put borders on your table. You can do this in excel before you copy it to word, or you can do this afterwards.

to add borders in word, select your table, and click (Home-under paragraph - select the borders icon)

View-gridlines, is what is different, to view gridlines on the table without putting borders,

    GO TO LAYOUT - SHOW/HIDE - gridlines

I am assuming in Excel you have grid lines only so of course one option is to put borders in at source or, when you have pasted into Word, it is still table format so merely right click in top left box that appears left of whole table. This highlights the table and displays the sub menu. Select borders and shading, then select the All option.
