Dental Extraction Issues?
2 weeks ago I had both the rear upper widom teeth remooved, there was a little pain afterwards, but nothing major, however over the last 2 days, I have been experianceing increasing pain and blocked sinuses, on the left hand side. I can also feel a very small sharp piece of I assume bone or somthing sticking out, I just wondered if anyone had any Ideas for what this issue could be.
I cant easily go to the dentist at the moment, my dentistry is over 100 miles away (Im a student).

Hi,
the small sharp piece is most likely a fragment of bone which is common after a difficult extraction. This should work it's way to the surface and come out. The dentist checks the extracted tooth to make sure it not broken - if it is they would retrieve the missing piece of tooth.
It is rare but not impossible that you have developed sinusitis from the extraction. The upper wisdom teeth are close to the sinus, and the sinus may have been perforated during surgery.
I would not worry about the sharp piece, and treat your sinusitis accordingly. In the meantime phone your dentist with these issues. It is important they know about them and they will record your symptoms. They will also advice you.
Aftercare is part of their job. It is very usual for patients to phone with this sort of query ,and only they can really answer this question accurately. They have the treatment history and can if necessary liaise with your doctor (whom, i hope, is in closer proximity than your dentist!). Good luck.

Honestly, why would you come here instead of calling the dental/oral surgeon's office? No one here knows the true answer and if it is a chip of tooth then it needs to be gotten out before you develop infection around it. The sooner the better before skin starts attaching to it firmly!
