I'm currently a Visual Merchandiser at Old Navy and you don't need a resume. The application is pretty simple but you have to take an assessment test which is very important. In our system if you show up Green on the assessment you passed and are hire able. If you show up red or yellow they won't even look at your application. The assesment is all questions about customer service, ethics, and basic comprehension. Example:
What would you do if a customer was yelling at you?, If Susie walks next to you and looks at a shirt but can't find her size what do you do?, Is it ok for an employee to steal things as long as no one notices?.
Its really easy so don't stress. =)

I applied at Old Navy once. : ) Never got hired but only because I got another job first. You really don't need a resume. You have no experience yet and it's just not the resume type of job. Go into the Old Navy that you want to work at and ask for an application. Sometimes the manager will be there and like to talk to you on the spot and sometimes they want you to fill out the application and come back. So be prepared and dress nicely. First impressions are everything! Most often, they just want you to fill out the application and leave it and they'll say something like "I'll give this to my manager and he/she will call you in a few days" That is RARELY true. If you really want the job...wait about 3 days and call in. Ask for the manager and say something along the lines of " I came in on ___day__ and filled out an application. I wanted to see that you received it and was wondering if we could set up an interview" They may or may not set one up, but your application will stand out because you followed up. And if they don't set up the interview then...keep calling every 3-4 days...they like persistence. I would also suggest not putting all your eggs in one basket. Fill out applications at more than one place and follow the same guidelines..I promise you'll get a job!! Good luck!

For most jobs like oldnavy, mcdonalds, walmart, etc., you don't even need a resume. All you have to do is ask the people at the store for an application. You fill it out either there, or at your house and return it, and if they are interested they will call you back. At 16, jobs wouldn't expect you to have one but if you feel it's necessary, I copied and pasted you steps to write a resume from a website.
1.Select a simple and standardized format, nothing too fancy. Try one of the examples given at jobsearch.about.com.
2.Use heavy weight plain white or off-white paper and avoid flashy fonts or scented sheets (You’re not Elle from Legally Blonde)
3.Make sure your contact information is accurate and up-to-date. Include a primary contact number, and a cell phone number and email address if you have them. Note: if your email address has a nickname or an overly cutesy name consider opening a free email account with some variation of your actual name, nothing ruins a resume faster than a name like superstud1993@freemail.com in the contact line.
4.Include an introductory paragraph of 2 or 3 sentences telling the employer about your strongest and most desirable personality traits. Tailor this to highlight those traits most applicable to the job for which you are applying. This is sometimes called an Objective Statement.
5.If you truly have no work experience don’t try to flub, instead list your volunteer work or community activities. If you’ve done work experience through a course at school make note of it here. If you’ve had odd jobs, or done things like baby sit or yard work for neighbors list it here and if at all possible get letters of reference.
6.Next list course work at school that you feel is relevant to the job. Make note of any academic achievements or awards. Explain how you think your excellent performance in these areas would benefit the employer or enhance your ability to do the job. If you can, get a letter of reference from a teacher of one of the courses you mention.
7.List your extracurricular activities of a non-volunteer nature such as sports, church or youth groups, school committees, etc. If you have a position of authority in any of these groups make note of it and describe your duties as if they were a job.
8.Finally, sell yourself by making a list of your skills, special talents, or positive personality traits.
Tips:
1.When writing your first resume never pad it or make it longer than a page; employers aren’t expecting a long work history from a first time worker.
2.You may see a lot of things on this list that appear as “don’ts” on resume and job hunting websites but remember that this is your first resume and the rules change once you have some work experience or career oriented education.
3.Don’t lie and always be true to who you are. Any deception will be very obvious to an experienced interviewer and will cost you the job.

sit down and think about what work experince you have, everyone has some and it all counts. have you babysat had a paper route? walked dogs? cleaned yards? anything and everything counts. also have you done any volunteering or do you have any special skills like managing money or computer skills/organizational skills? first just jot down all your positive traits and attributes and dont be shy, this is where you really have to bring out your self esteem and sell your self. you want them to pick your resume out of a huge stack so it has to stand out.
A good resume should be no more than 2 pages and include 3 references. good references are respectable ADULTS in your life such as a neighbor whos kids you sat for or a teacher who thinks highly of you ect. the start o your resume should have your name address and phone number
next put your objective, this could be "to find meaningful part time employment to earn extra income and enhance my job skills" after your objective could be your educational accomplishments such as recent awards (are you honors? if so put it on the resume) follow then by your positive attributes and skills then you can write a brief list of hobbies, (such as sports) follow that by your references. also it will look really good i you write what is called a cover letter. this is a few brief paragraphs introducing yourself and explaining why you want to work at old navy and why you would be a good member of the team. the cover letter allows you to explain yourself in more detail and puts you ahead of most teens who often do not write such letters. also when you go to hand in your resume dress nice and keep your hair tidy. be polite, introduce yourself to the manager and cary your resume in a folder so you look more professional.
also call old navy back after 2 or 3 days to see if they have gotten a chance to look over your resume and if they would like to see you for an interview. if they say they are not hiring or have found all they need ask for them to keep your resume on file in case someone else does not work out.
Hope this helps and good luck. also try googleing resume templates to give you an idea of what a good resume should look like
