What is the difference between Lucifer and Satan?

I want to know what the difference between Lucifer and Satan is. I would like both Biblical text quotes, but I am more interested in what ancient non-biblical text say on the subject. Thanks so much!

The name Lucifer is only in one place in the bible, Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!"

In this passage, Jesus is taunting the king of Babylon. Lucifer was translated from the original Hebrew "helel", which means "bright or brilliant one" into the Latin word "lucifer", which was the closest word meaning "lightbringer".

In this time, this loose translation for a "star" was intended to mean an illustrious prince or king. Following this particular passage, Jesus says "Is this the man who made the earth tremble, . . . ?" and (14:18) "All the kings of the nations lie in glory, each in his own tomb; but you are cast out . . ."

There is no evidence in the passages surrounding or otherwise that would indicate that Jesus is referring to anyone other than the king.

The term satan is derived from the Hebrew word "satan", which means "opponent or adversary". it appears only in verses in 1 Chronicles, Job, Psalms, and in Zechariah. In each instance, in the original Hebrew texts it was used to refer to an accuser or opponent to God or God's cause. In about half of these, the term is even used in plural form.

Nowhere in the original Hebrew texts does anything specifically state that there is an entity like a satan or devil that resides in and/or reigns over a place of eternal damnation.

If you really do your research, the mistakes and misinterpretations of the original Hebrew texts of the bible account for every single reference to what is supposedly an indication of the existence of a devil or hell.

Technically, NOTHING! Lucifer is the name of the highest ranking Angel meaning "Light-Bearer" or "Enlightened One". When he was found with iniquity in his spirit and wanted to raise above God, Yahweh, he was cast out of the 3rd Heaven where God rules over Paradise. After this heavenly war, Lucifer was then called Satan by God, meaning adversary. The "devil's" name is not Satan, it is Lucifer and Satan is just a pronoun to describe what he now is - an adversary of God and His Son our Messiah, Jesus Christ.
