weight of frozen water?

is a gallon of frozen water less or more weight than a gallon of unfrozen water.

    frozen water is less dense than unfrozen water. So assuming the same volume leads to the conclusion that the less dense will weigh less than the more dense. i.e. 1 gallon frozen water weighs less than 1 gallon unfrozen water.

    Trick question. If you take a gallon of water a freeze it, it will weigh exactly as much as it did before, since you didn't add or remove any matter during the freezing process. Ice is less dense than water, though, so a gallon of ice would weigh less than a gallon of water.
