Ok this wasn't in your Q but its still important, if either of these are ones you really want to go to they should be at the top.No1 should be you really really want to go, No2 a safe, then the rest in order, i know they tell you its not too important at 6th form but it is! Back to the Q manchester is better, but birmingham is better by accommodation, it depends whether you want good tuition or learn a lot yourself but good surroundings, you have to decide.

Birmingham city university best university so Faculty who already teach modules in Birmingham will fly to Singapore to teach the same modules there in block format. The programmes are already proving attractive to Singaporean students, and the first cohort of 70 students commenced their studies in July; 14 of these are on the International Business variant and will come to Birmingham in March 2010 for the international part of their studies. As the programme was only approved in January, we are really pleased with the number of students who have enrolled.
We are working with the Singapore Institute of Management who are managing the programme for us and who offer the modern facilities we need. Malcolm Kirkup who is teaching the first module of the programme said: "I've kicked off the programme with a module on Services Marketing. We have a strong first cohort and the students have thrown themselves into the work with real enthusiasm. It's a privilege to have the opportunity to teach in Singapore. The teaching facilities and support from SIM are excellent, the sun is shining, the food's great ... actually I'm not sure I want to come back to Birmingham just yet !"
We expect next year’s cohort to be much larger; as the programme will be publicised to students from the wider South East Asian region who we believe will be really interested in the initiative.

I had a friend visit uni of manchester, she said it didnt look anywhere near as good as it was portrayed. You should visit though if you havent already and have a look, but as a more vibrant place to live I would have to say Birmingham. Its a good uni, but it depends what campus they base you on for your course, some of them are horrible or really far from anywhere
