transmission service?

what exactly does it mean to have the transmission serviced on a car? what all is involved?

    change fluid and filter usually.

    some quick oil change places offer fluid changes. iprefer the "old school" way of taking the trans pan off replacing the screen/filter cleaning the pan and refilling with new fluid. keep in mind that this is a maintance issue. changing the oil in a blown up engine will not "fix" it,nor will changing the fluid in a bad trans
