Can you play the coming "The Sims 3" online with friends?

The Sims 3 is coming to all sorts of consols this month ( I think it was) and I was curious if it was possible to play wirh friends online on the Xbox? As in that you live in the same house, interact etc?

I don't seem to get a clear answer anywhere, only that you can share things which doesn't really answer it. =|

IMO, it's pointless to make a new sims if they still haven't managed this, even if you need to pay extra (which they're so good at)... >.>

    According to the wikipedia page, friends can play together on the Wii only as of now.
