Buying breeches online that fit?

Measure the inseam of a pair of jeans that fit you snugly JUST to where they hit your ankle (since that's the length most people want their breeches to be.) Then phone an actual tack store and have a salesperson measure the inseams of the sizes you think you might need. That way, you'll know about how long the inseam will be, and should be able to order the correct size online.

Some breeches DO come in "petite" sizes (meaning shorter inseams), but I can't think of any brands off the top of my head, and I'm betting they'll be pricier just because they're not the standard, "regular" size. At your height and weight, you probably COULD wear a Child's 14 or 16, especially if your waist and hips are slim. (Lucky you; youth sizes are REALLY easy to find on sale!!)

im 5'6" just under 100 lbs and have long legs and I ordered the largest kids size in regular (i think it's a 12) and they're a bit short when I put paddock boots on you can't tell how long or short they are,so they're not incredibly short obviously. By the time I add my chaps on you really can't tell. What size pants do you normally wear? That's a good way to determine size but I would say a kids size, if you can still fit into kids 12 or 10 in length (breeches are stretchyer so it's just length to worry about since you're not overweight) I would get those, kids length in jeans are equivalent to breeches in kids length

I have the opposite problem (small waist with too-fat thighs and calves.) I think, therefore, that the brands that gave ME the greatest headaches might fit you quite well, especially if you try their "low-rise" options (since the waist sits lower on the hips, it is wider.) You could also try men's breeches; they are wider in the waist and tighter in the hips and thighs. Brands that might work for you: Kerrit's, Miller's (discontinued brandm but you might be aboe to find them on closeout somewhere), and Devon-Aire.
