In the book Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte...?

In Wuthering Heights, what do the Lintons have that Catherine wants and causes Heathcliff to seek revenge? This is a homework question for me. I am thinking that the answer might be Edgar Linton's marriage. THank you!

I'm not really sure what you just said.

But the thing that the Lintons have that Catherine wants is money and security. Catherine says that she and Heathcliff are the same, but that she can't marry him because she can't improve her position in society with him. He's adopted, he has no name and has no property of his own. Heathcliff leaves before he hears her say that he's the one she truly loves. They both spend the rest of their lives regretting that they did not marry each other, and that's why Heathcliff wants revenge on Edgar Linton and his family.

I guess it all depends on your personality... I didn't, but I did think it was a pretty sad book, a little weird at points, but definitely an excellent book... If you didn't cry reading 'Of Mice and Men' you can certainly handle Wuthering Heights.
