What is a good music downloading website? (besides limewire!)?

A while ago i used Limewire to download all of my music, and then apparently it gave my computer a virus, so i stopped using it. Now I use ITunes, but im sick of paying 1.29 for each song, plus half of the songs i want aren't even on iTunes haha. Sooooo does any one have any suggestions for music downloading sites? (that wont give my computer a virus!)

and i know "free" is illegal, but iv spend hundreds of dollars on itunes and im sick of doing that :)

    free would be illegal and violate the copyright laws

    get some antivirus software free from AVG and keep on using limewire.
