Need help with BOV and Turbo.?

So I realize a turbo puts some strain on your engine. Does a Blow off valve release all this pressure and save the engine? And how difficult are these two components to install? Do I need an intercooler also?

The purpose of a blow off valve is to prevent the compressor stalling and putting too much force on the thrust bearing behind it. It also makes a good noise. Some can be installed in the rubber pipe from the compressor. An intercooler will let you use more boost; engines built for power like to breathe cool air because it leaves more temperature to be added by fuel.
