Does anybody know if there is another manufacturer other than Perdue?
Hubby is on oxycontin op and since starting the new formulation has had bad stomachaches. I'm worried he might get pancreatititis(sp?) because he has had it before and he is also diabetic. the pain starts about an hour after he takes his scheduled medication. he has an appointment with the doctor to talk with him about the pain medication and not feeling well. I've tried getting ahold of perdue pharmaceuticals with no success.Has anybody else had this happen and what would be a good suggestion. I thought maybe a different company would be better but I have not heard of any.I do know the formulation change happened to keep people from abusing the medicine but what good is the medicine if it is making you sick because of the change. for the record the hubby and I are in favor of a safeguard being put in so it can't be abused. Is it still possible to get the oc formulation from another company. He didn't get sick on the oc formulation

the new op version sucks alot of people are having problems with it their are generics but they are the same formula as these they dont sell the old formula anymore the problem is their is no other long lasting 12 hour opiate medication like oxycontin to take i herd opana is ok but still not as good i know some people are asking to be switched to the immediate release(ir) oxycodone but the problem is they are really only ment for break through pain and where off quickly especially if someone has a tolerance so they have to keep taking them all day so doctors dont like to give those as an option but its probably the only thing that will work

First, I would contact your pharmacy. Find out which manufacturers they are using. If they are only using that one, I would call other pharmacies. Then I would contact the prescribing doctor and find out of they know of any companies. Maybe they can change his meds if that doesn't help. Good luck!
