my hubby is thinking about settling his workers comp case. he is 100% disabled and receiving social security. If he settles what would happen to his social security( SSD). would he lose it or would it be froze for a period of time.

This is a sticky situation. My MIL is getting on in years. She still has all her marbles but she has some health issues. She has named my SIL as executor of her estate which none of us kids have a problem with. The problems lies with the SIL ideas about medical attention. She does not believe in doctors and prefers to self diagnose and doctor herself with herbs. that is fine if she chooses to do that for herself but there is some concern that if mom ever needed medical decisions made for her that the sister in law would not want her going to a doctor and would attempt to doctor her with herbs.this is a major problem as my MIL has had breast cancer and recently went in for her 1 year check up and they found another lump. they biopsied it immediately and when they did the lump went down. Right now we are assuming it was a cyst and that everything will be okay. Last year when mom was told she had breast cancer immediately the SIL wanted her to take a bunch of herbs rather than have the recommended lumpectomy and radiation.Recently SIL has came home and I was not happy at all with some of the things she was saying about major medical care and the hubby and I are more than a little concerned. Some examples of her ideas:

1) Everybody has cancer at some point in their body, it comes and goes so therefore you have lots of time to make decisions

2) mammograms are bs. you are more likely to get cancer from the mammogram than to have cancer without it. the chances of getting breast cancer are slim( but yet her mother has it)

3) if you have a broken bone just hold a cat and let it purr. the purring will help mend the broken bone.

4) all she can talk about is how herbs are beneficial. okay I have to admit we as a society have over used certain drugs and we are going to have to go old school but not for something like cancer or heart disease and then they should only be taken with your doctors approval

5) she doesn't believe in doctors and has the attitude that she knows more than they do

What the hubby and I would like to do is ask mom to allow him, myself and his twin brother to be her health care proxies and for her to make out a living will spelling out her wishes if she in an event could not make medical decisions for herself. Is this out of line? Is it a good idea or would it just stir the pot and cause hard feelings? If we don't get this done what kind of bs will we have to go through to make sure mom gets proper medical attention? what rights do we as her other kids have regarding this decision? Oh and the reason the hubby suggested I be on the health care proxy with his brother is because as he put it there are women issues he is not familar with and we are married and have been for a very long time.He values my opinion and input.He thinks the three of us could work together to make sure mom's wishes are carried out and she gets the health care required.

Okay first of all I am a person who believes that when you do something good it is repaid to you by at least 10 fold.tonight I went with my daughter to the church that is located in our neighborhood for Bible study. I didn't want her walking home in the dark even though it is a safe neighborhood.while we were in Bible study a man came in who said he had been traveling. he sat through Bible study, seemed a little angry( radical is what the Pastor thought) and down on his luck, at one point he even cried. he was trying to get down south to see his son.he said he was from Montana but wouldn't go into detail. Long story short,I walked home and brought him back a hot roast beef dinner( veggies, spuds and all) and a couple of us handed him a few bucks for gas.After he left someone said that they had heard of this happening at other churches recently. Sorry but I did some checking and couldn't find anything.If this was my son or a member of my family I would want someone to help them so I feel that I did a good deed by feeding this guy.It didn't take any food out of my family's mouth and I still have plenty of left overs.I feel I did the Christian thing and the right thing for a human being to do.If you were me and the others who were there what would you have done? After all is a hot meal and $15( which he didn't want to take) too much to give to someone who obviously doesn't have much. after all isn't it true that we are supposed to love others as we love ourselves.I told the hubby, the guy was either an angel is disguise testing us or we deflated the devil with kindness.I have a theory about why he didn't want to talk about Montana( hint it has been in the news a lot and involves more than 1 spouse). What do you guys think? One more thing he didn't ask for money or a meal but we felt he needed it.

I thought Pikey was in mortal danger and tonight proved it. But what upsets me most is I'm going to miss the next episode of Sons because Directv is having a spitting match with FX so as of Nov1st it will no longer be on. Where can I watch future episodes of Sons on the computer? This by far my favorite show on tv and I can't miss it on tuesday nights.So if anybody can tell me where to catch it on the computer or is willing to compare notes every week I'd love it and appreciate it. One more thing I think Jacks should have been told about the letters already,I think Tara knows Clay wants her gone and Chibs is Juices only way out of the mess he is in.Can you believe Chucky put the head in the chili! talk about fast thinking.Also If you have Directv make sure you e-mail them and complain or call them. maybe we can get them to keep things on. they will give you a song and a dance but not the other side of the story. FX was willing to work on a deal with them and keep the rates the same until an agreement had been reached without a break in service. Instead Directv told them to go pound salt so as of Nov 1st your FX will probably be replaced with advertising channels and an increase in your tv bill.

As the title states I have epilepsy and I'm having some problems.I started seeing a new neurologist because I really want my license back. I've been on meds all along and the last seizure I had was back in 1988.So I have an EEG and MRI for this doctor's records. That was Friday. Today he personally calls me up and tells me he wants me in is office this week because some seizure activity showed up on the EEG. I have a follow up appointment for the 28th but he wants me in the office on Wednesday at the latest. Good grief it's not like I'm flopping around like a fish or anything.My question is has anybody else had trouble with their meds and that cursed EEG? Right now I'm feeling more than a little discouraged and frankly I'm not looking forward to changing meds or adding to the ones I'm on. I figure if it isn't broke don't fix it. I don't like feeling drugged up and sick. What has helped you fellow people who are on anticonvulsants? It just makes me mad that cause a machine says so I have my license and freedom taken away and a bunch of pills shoved at me every time I have an EEG. The hubby is going with me to the doctor and has said he had better have some good answers or else.

question says it all. just curious if anybody has used this and what is your opinion on the product. seems very expensive and I'm not really sold 100% on its cleansing ability.If anybody has used it I would be interested in what you think of it.and yeah I have considered purchasing it but like I said between price and the amount of product you have to use I'm not sure if it is really worth it. seems a little to good to be true.

take to grow the six dead and a raggy inches I took off? I feel a little naked because so much was taken off(some by accident but at least it is all healthy hair now). any suggestions to help it grow a little faster? A quarter to half inch a month just doesn't seem enough.

Okay now that I have your attention, it is nothing kinky or marital. I have been looking for my husbands Army buddies and have not been able to find them not even on face book. Can anybody give me any ideas on how to locate them? I do have information that can help me find them but I'm not going to post it out of concerns for personal safety. unfortunately we do get trolls in here.also any other web sites that might help.

Why is it that no matter who you are you know someone who when a holiday gets here by the end of the night someone is fighting? I just don't get it.Visited friends this afternoon and they should write a book on family fights.I left before it got to heated( peopl were being really mean to each other before hand on fb) only to come home to the neighbors fist fighting in the front yard( women at that. and no they aren't good looking for all of those guys who dig chick fights).

I myself do use coupons but I can't see how these people are getting out of the store with paying so little by using coupons. something seems fishy. Sure you can save a little but that much in one trip really? To me if it is real these people border on hording/ addiction. A lot of canned and processed food and little if any spent in the meat,produce,dairy aisles. And let's get real 35 maalox and 77 mustards at a time! how is that saving money?

The title says it all. Last week I went to the doctor because I've been having some stomach issues the last 2 weeks. needless to say before I left I was scheduled for a sonogram of my gallbladder and had blood work done. They also put me on pepside for a month. To day the nurse called and said they want me back in for more blood work because my white blood cell count was low.Anybody else have this happen and what do you think it might be? I feel fine for the most part but can't eat out any more ( the food goes right through me) and certain foods bother me if I eat them. The pain I get is on the left side rather than the right like it should be if it was your gall bladder but we all know that not everybody is the same and gall stones can do funky things as far as symptoms go that is why the sono gram of my gall bladder was ordered. any input would be helpful.

I have started teaching Sunday School. Not long ago I came across a free lesson on the internet and for the life of me I can't find it again( that is what happens when you don't write something you find down). To make a long story short it called for you using five balloons with slips of paper in them with the questions of what color eyes does God have, what color hair does He have, what is his favorite color, his favorite animal, what does God not like. the balloons are blown up and the kids have to sit on the balloons to pop it to get the question and then answer it. I can't find the lesson and I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find it or if they had used the same lesson.

Long story short ,brother in law has a girlfriend I don't care for. Mother in law is a back biter and has played both sides of the fence pitting us against each other. They went on vacation and I casually mentioned to my hubby and his mother( over the phone) that I think that the brother in law and girlfriend should get married while they are out of state visiting her family. Question is: Isn't it better to give people exactly what they ask for especially when they are not expecting it? I had logical reasons and added a few ounces of sweetness to it. Right now as I post this mother in laws head is spinning on her shoulders and she is flipping out about " her baby" getting married( he's 44). By the way I confronted her on October 16 of this year about her being two faced about this whole deal and she has not spoke to me since. I was respectful when I confronted her, nothing nasty. she doesn't even call to see how her son and our kids are now.He has to call her.Am I wrong to be chuckling to myself tonight?

doctor just put me on progesterone treatment for my Really bad mood swings. I am heading into menopause. Has anybody else gone this route and how well did you do? what can I expect? not having any of the other problems like hot flashes or night sweats. I'm either calling out the flying monkeys or crying at the drop of a hat.I'm not myself by a long shot.other than that I'm a very healthy woman.

Hubby is on oxycontin op and since starting the new formulation has had bad stomachaches. I'm worried he might get pancreatititis(sp?) because he has had it before and he is also diabetic. the pain starts about an hour after he takes his scheduled medication. he has an appointment with the doctor to talk with him about the pain medication and not feeling well. I've tried getting ahold of perdue pharmaceuticals with no success.Has anybody else had this happen and what would be a good suggestion. I thought maybe a different company would be better but I have not heard of any.I do know the formulation change happened to keep people from abusing the medicine but what good is the medicine if it is making you sick because of the change. for the record the hubby and I are in favor of a safeguard being put in so it can't be abused.Is it still possible to get the oc formulation from another company.He didn't get sick on the oc formulation

How do you get it threw somebodies head that you have no interest in being friendly with their new girl friend? Brother In law went on a date with a girl he met in a bar and moved her in 5 days later and set up a joint savings account. She has been rude to my mother in law and has even gone so far as trying to get the bil to ask mom for help in buying a house. To say the least I couldn't tolerate this person even before she came into the bil life but the problem is the hubby who feels that I should be friendly with her. I've already said I don't want her in my house or around my kids. My doctor has suggested that it might not be such a good idea for us to even be in the same room together( I had a long talk with her when I went for my check up because I felt really ill about this person and the situation was getting hard to handle). I'm all for agreeing to disagree but every time the subject of her or my bil behavior as of late(been mean to mil) it ends in a fight. I don't want to be nor can I be friends with this woman( to call her a user would be an understatement) and he just does not get it no matter how much in detail I go.I mean good grief I don't choose his friends and it's not like she is a part of our relationship but my bil has a habit of picking up some real winners and I won't tolerate her or him being rude or mean to my mil.

Okay so my doctor has just informed me the reason I feel the way I do is because I'm starting the change(I'm 44). That is fine with me and I can handle just everything except the mood swings. I never know day to day what to expect. I can have a really good day or a bad day which ends up with me crying at the drop of a hat or wanting to call out the flying monkeys. they said they are calling meds in for me( had to do a little research) but they have to be careful what they give me because I have a seizure disorder and they don't want to mess up my dilantin count. can any of you girls share your experiences and what helped you the most get through this moody part.I don't know what they are giving me until monday because that is when the medicine will be in. Hubby talked with the doctor's office this morning and that is why I know it will be in monday but not what it is( hope it won't make me gain weight I'm trying to shed some pounds) I had to laugh the nurse chewed his butt out and told him he needed to be more understanding and patient when he complained that I was hard to live with.

Hubby has several Morgan silver Dollars that he would like to sell they are from I believe 1895 or older and in good to excellent condition. How do we go about selling them to a reputable dealer and what is the going price. Morgan silver dollars are suppose to be 99.999% silver so what would be a fair price for them.We know the price of silver is up how does that factor in with coins.

Recently my hubby received papers in the mail for a loan acceptance. It states that it is an FHA loan and that it is backed by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. the company is called Embrace and they are offering us a 4.375% loan rate which is much better than what we are paying right now. should we file 13 this or look further into it. I'm not real crazy about it because Freddie and Fannie are involved and because this was not information we asked for. any information would be appreciated as well as any sound advice.
