settling workers comp and soc. security?

my hubby is thinking about settling his workers comp case. he is 100% disabled and receiving social security. If he settles what would happen to his social security( SSD). would he lose it or would it be froze for a period of time.

I think that SSDI benefits don't change. But because your husband is medicare elgible, federal law states that an MSA (Medicare set-aside allocation) is required for wokers comp settlements, so that there is no double dipping in future medical.

    Good luck

he needs to discuss this in detail with his attorney & workman's comp case worker before deciding. SSDI questions need to be answered by his SSA case worker. have him make a list of questions & concerns so he doesn't forget.
