    "I've waited"

    'I've waited for you my whole life'

    Both are correct.

    Examples:

    I waited at the bus stop for 2 hours.

    I have waited at this bus stop for 2 hours.

    It depends on the context. If you're explaining a past action, then you waited. If you're telling someone that you were waiting, then you say 'I have waited'.
